“Bloodsport” is a martial arts action film directed by Newt Arnold, based on the allegedly true story of Frank Dux, an American martial artist who participated in the underground Kumite tournament.Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a highly skilled martial artist, goes AWOL from the U.S. military to compete in the Kumite, a secret, no-holds-barred fighting tournament held in Hong Kong. Along the way, he befriends fellow fighter Ray Jackson (Donald Gibb) and attracts the attention of journalist Janice Kent (Leah Ayres). However, he faces his biggest challenge in the brutal defending champion, Chong Li (Bolo Yeung), a ruthless fighter known for his deadly tactics.
