“Minsara Kanavu” (English: Electric Dreams) is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language musical romantic drama film directed by Rajiv Menon. It stars Prabhu Deva, Arvind Swami, and Kajol in the lead roles, with music composed by A. R. Rahman. The film was also dubbed in Hindi as “Sapnay.”

Priya Amalraj (played by Kajol) is a lively and free-spirited young woman who returns to India from boarding school. Her father wants her to become a nun, but Priya has dreams of living a free and independent life.
